Creating Communities that encourage questions & inspire each other to love like Jesus
Highrock began in 1999 around a dinner table. A small group of believers shared a dream of a church where people of all backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities could encounter Jesus. In time, this small group became a congregation, outgrowing several spaces in Cambridge and Somerville. In the Spring of 2006, Highrock set down roots in Arlington. Since then, Highrock has planted churches in nine more locations across eastern Massachusetts. We're excited about Jesus and what Jesus is doing through the lives of ordinary people. We invite you to invest: take the time to get to know us and join in what God is doing at Highrock!
In Fall 2017, Matt and Megan Webel and their three boys moved back to New England to help start a new church plant from Highrock North Shore. After months of prayer, conversation, and walking the towns around Greater Boston, we felt God calling us to Haverhill, MA.
We’re still a young church, which means we are flexible and responsive to new ideas and new invitations from God. We believe God's church can be a creative and imaginative force for good in our community. Church community can engage us holistically and empower us collectively. We put emphasis on gathering in smaller settings during the week that cultivate trust through vulnerability and help us discern God's call on our lives.
And you know what? It’s really, really exciting. Like a child, we crawl around the corner and discover something new about Haverhill every day. We are meeting people who care about the city, learning about local businesses, and stumbling upon the amazing things God is already doing.
God is bigger than our church. God has been moving in Haverhill long before we arrived - and will be moving long after we’re gone. But now, God is inviting us to be a part of growing his Kingdom in Haverhill as it is in heaven. It’s been a beautiful, gutsy, and sacred adventure thus far.
We live out our mission and develop disciples following a basic map:
Connecting to God personally, God's people, & God's purposes
The combination of an upwardly directed arrow, a house, and a starburst, our logo is representative of the three core aspects of what we are all about: Transformation through connecting to God personally, connecting to God's people, and connecting to God's purposes.
